#MarRef canvassing -Volunteers needed

Couple quickie updates on marriage referendum stuff...

Dundalk Outcomers are looking for volunteer canvassers in Co. Louth, Co. Meath, Co. Monaghan and Co. Cavan. This will be done in pairs of one male and one female, so if you have a friend of the opposite sex who would also like to campaign, even better! Information and how to apply can be found here: Canvassers: YES vote to marriage equality

As I've posted before, I'm compiling some clips of local(ish) folk, organisations and businesses who are in support of marriage equality. We've posted some of them up here: YouTube - Vote YES for Marriage Equality

Hopefully more to come... We decided to first post them individually, then in couple of weeks they'll be compiled together -This way, they can be shared on social media either individually or all-in-one, whichever is preferred by your lovely selves. Get prescribing and sharing!

...Aaaaaalso, like this page to keep up to date: Vote for Happiness -The latest videos will be posted here.

#MarRef updates

Thanks so much to everyone who attended, and donated to Simon's hair shave event. Thanks to Crooked Canyon and The Bartender for their hospitality and talents, and to Chaplin's hair salon in Dundalk who organised the hair to be sent off to the Rapunzel charity.

For anyone who would still like to donate, you can still do so here.

Here's a couple of photos of Simon, the day after the head shave (The midsection took a couple days to disappear, with all the excitement I forgot to brush it beforehand, haha!)

The Outcomers centre has also ran two successful coffee mornings and The Marriage Equality Louth group have just finished running a

Bicky's marriage equality fundraiser

As I've mentioned in a prior post, I'm trying to help the yes campaign for the upcoming marriage equality referendum in Ireland. As you can imagine, the no campaigners are vast in number, monies and power, so fundraising is a must. This is not about religion, this is not about children, this is not about politics -This is about every Irish woman and man having the same human, basic rights as each other! Not an LGBT member? Great! It is straight allies I'm trying to appeal to here.

So to recap on what I kinda already said in the prior post:

what can you do? Well apart from the obvious voting yes...

1. Donate: Text "Love" to 50300. Save and post this pic to your Facebook profile (with the photo settings set to public of course, so that your mates can share).

2. Live in Dundalk? Attend the local

Marriage equality in Ireland

I'm happy to say, that after having to leave college last year due to illness, I'm doing super well now in my third year :) I've began my work placement in a local LGBT group and loving it so far! As most of you will know (Irish readers, anyway), the marriage equality referendum is taking place this year. We are hoping to put together a small video of local, well-known folk showing their support on a yes vote. This may include -Councillors, radio or TV presenters, sports personalities, musicians/ bands, organisations... anyone really, who is well-known either living in or from anywhere in Co. Louth. Interested in showing your support, or know someone who this may apply to? Contact details in the post below...
